Your Responsibilities

You need to report your injury to your supervisor.

Although the compensation law allows 30 days to provide notice to your employer, we encourage all clients to notify their supervisor as soon as possible. The compensation law also provides that an injured worker has 2 years from the date of their accident to file their case with the Board. There are requirements that need to be followed and our attorneys know how to satisfy the filing requirements in all types of compensation cases.

You need to obtain medical treatment for your injuries promptly and by medical providers who accept workers' compensation insurance and who provide good treatment to injured workers.
You need to inform your attorney and the insurance company if your injuries cause you to be out of work, If you are receiving monetary benefits and return to any type of work, whether on or off the books, whether for pay or as a volunteer.

If you are disabled from work, you need to see your doctor at least one time every forty-five days. Whether you are working or not, you need to appear for scheduled hearings for your case at the Workers' Compensation Board.

You need inform your doctors, attorneys, the insurance company and the Workers' Compensation Board of any change of address or phone number.
