David J. Bangel
David J. Bangel graduated from the State University of New York at Stony Brook in 1990 and from Nova University Law School in 1993. Upon graduation, Mr. Bangel became associated with the law firm of Stewart, DeCurtis, Greenblatt, Manning & Baez. During his tenure with this firm, Mr. Bangel limited his practice to handling all aspects of Workers' Compensation cases. At that time he represented the insurance companies and self-insured employers, gaining extremely valuable knowledge as to how the insurance companies and self-insureds think about and approach cases. In 1995 he became associated with the law firm of Chesney, Murphy & Moran handling Workers' Compensation cases as well as personal injury defense litigation, again for insurance companies and large self-insureds. In 1997 he became a partner with the firm of Bangel & Cohen, LLP, representing injured workers' before the Workers' Compensation Board. Mr. Bangel has been admitted to the Bar of the State of New York since 1994 and to the United States District Court for the Eastern and Southern Districts in 1996. Mr. Bangel is a member of the New York State Bar Association as well as the Injured Workers' Bar Association.
Stephen H. Cohen
Stephen H. Cohen graduated from the State University of New York College at Oswego in 1987 and from Touro College Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center in 1993. Upon graduation he became associated with the law firm of Chesney, Murphy & Moran, handling Workers' Compensation cases and all aspects of defense litigation matters for insurance companies and large self-insureds. Because of his experience representing insurance companies and large self-insureds, he gained extremely valuable knowledge in understanding how the insurance companies and self-insureds think about and approach cases. He has been a guest speaker on the MSG Metro Learning Station on several occasions and has been a lecturer for other attorneys and health workers in seminars regarding the New York State Workers' Compensation Law. In 1997 he became a partner with the firm of Bangel & Cohen, LLP. Mr. Cohen was admitted to the Bar of the State of New York in 1993 and to the United States District Court for the Eastern and Southern Districts in 1994. He is a member of the New York State Bar Association as well as the Injured Workers' Bar Association.
